Hop had a niece he raised until she was 12, his sister(her mother) got pregnant at 15 and since he was 24 at the time, and the only member of their family left that gave a shit, he took the baby in. His sister ran away from home so it was him, his niece and his wife and daughter. He was her family until her mother came back, married, and demanded her daughter back, and he had no choice since her husband was some lawyer and then like that they were gone. He never heard from them again until 6 years later when his adopted daughter Jane, used her powers and a picture of the young girl to find her. She's back but she's different, but the family that grew while she was away took her in all the same.
