The Rot of The Hive
Shenju has never had much control of his own life and has had to navigate it by walking on eggshells due to never having been welcome in his family. Now he is forced to move to another country to marry his father's foreign business partner as a collateral. He must navigate a completely new snake pit while keeping his sanity intact but also spy on his new husband to gain advantages for his family despite Shenju wanting nothing more than to live a quiet life and find perhaps even a modicum of happiness. His mission becomes ever more complicated as it turns out his husband, Ruon, seems to be a kind man with plenty of warmth, safety and wisdom to spare. Even with his own closet of skeletons. Now Shenju must decide whether he fears his father for the rest of his life or gives himself to Ruon to nurture instead. Uncertainty prevails and everything almost turns into nothing before Shenju finally might have a chance to exact revenge on those that had hurt him. ______________ Notes: Word count is around 140k and the story is finished, no worries. I will be publishing one or two chapters a week. It's just a small and very self indulgent story of a very depressed person finding love and happiness after many many turbulent twists and turns, hope you enjoy. Contains angst, contains fluff, all the things we love. The world is completely made up and the characters are completely original so no fandom association. I was a little apprehensive about calling this fantasy or historical as this is no magic and dragons fantasy story, more realistic but whatever. About Shenju's name. It is pronounced Shen-yu and I suppose I could have written it as such but I liked the look of Shenju much better.
