People grow. And sometimes, they grow apart. Hardworking Basketball scholar with a well-rounded sunshine personality Jayden Perez is the epitome of ambition and hope. He comes from a family of Filipino immigrants just like privileged and reserved Volleyball star Mia Romero who, on the other hand, wears tough demeanors in attempt to cover her fragility. When the Sun Sets introduces us to a first love involving two individuals with extremely different personalities who eventually grew apart.

As summer comes to an end, Tony's life feels like it's falling apart. At the beginning of the summer, her boyfriend decided it would be better to end their relationship because they were just growing apart. In other words, he wanted to enjoy his hot boy summer and be single for his senior year of high school. Leaving Tony nursing a broken heart the entire summer before she starts her junior year. Tony just hasn't been herself since. And her brother Sebastian, their neighbor, and his best friend Colson, have definitely noticed. Seeing as she spent her summer locked in the house aside from volleyball practice and work. Colson noticed she hadn't been lingering around his house with his sister Saige but locked in Saige's room. Sebastian has noticed that she's not her typical upbeat self. And Saige. Saige noticed everything. So, the 2 boys devised a plan. And with one accidental phone call, Porter Harris comes prancing into her life and changes it forever. "Is this Sebastian Baker?" "Oh, no. This is Tony Baker. You put an 8 at the end instead of a 9." "Damn it Colson. I'm sorry. He must've given me the wrong number." And just like that, everything starts. Falling in love online, over the phone, through snap chat and social media, it's something that happens way too often these days, but Tony never expected it to happen to her. Is it too good to be true?
