"VIOLET CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
violets do best in bright, warm, natural light. they should be protected from hot sun. their fine roots need air and intermittent water."

unfortunately, this violet has been in the dark, in dry soil, practically dumped out of her pot, since she could remember. after her mother was deported, she was thrust into the seedy underworld of Brooklyn, where she'd wilted for almost ten years.

until one day, she's not. and little by little, violet has to adjust to a life of adequate sunlight.

𝙞𝙣 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙝 ,
with the help of her new family, violet learns to bloom, like the flower for which she was named.
