Detective Vespera and her assistant Lawrence come across a gruesome homicide, that begins to make Ves think a more serious and dangerous thing than a simple murder is going on. The murders seem to all be connected by white ink tattoos , that are in distinct markings covering the victim's entire body, and odd and uncomfortable poses the victims are found in.

While digging Ves discovers cases that other detectives in her department seem to be covering up. The cases are victims with the same markings and poses as her cases. Lawrence, her assistant detective, tries to get her to give the case to higher authorities once he realizes the danger she's putting herself in.Not willing to listen, Vespera keeps digging. Romance is blooming, danger is brewing, and lives are being ruined
