When Andrea Hale is mid portal jump to 18th century to visit her mother, she is tackled by Isaac Sterling, a stranger who assumed she was jumping off a pier to end her life & wanted to stop her, but in doing so causes both of them to sucked through her time travel portal & end up onboard of her mother's pirate ship instead. Now he must stay with Andrea until the next total lunar eclipse when there's enough energy to open a time portal to go back to his time. In the meantime, Andrea is trying to find a faster way to get him back to his timeline so that he doesn't cause a dangerous time ripple or worse, dies in the 18th century timeline.
