The Ten Kingdoms have lived in ignorance for too long. Believing that they were all that was out there. That their Ten very different Kingdoms were center of the world.
They are very wrong.
Across the sea sits King Damon. The Slave Warrior King who rules over the Outer regions. Enslaving everyone and giving them one single law. They must become Warriors of the island and live by Damon's Law. Only the strong survive.
Caught in the middle of two great Kings is one man. Being both part of the Ten Kingdoms and forced to become part of the Outer Regions.
Zane Merek.
Carrying the outcome of War on his shoulders. It's up to Zane to choose a side once and for all. His home that he was born to. Or his home that he had no choice but to fight for. However Zane's stubbornness and annoyance against both the King of the Ten Kingdoms and the Outer Region might just get him killed first.

Astren City, and all surrounding area, have the highest crime rate in the northern part of the country. Dozens of crime families constantly trying to take the throne, as well as corruption lurking around every corner, do not aid in that fact at all. Salem is offered a job to help with an investigation that could benefit his future career astronomically. He thinks it's a win-win situation, he gets the recognition he desires, and the streets will be that much safer. It's all black and white to him, easy to understand. He likes the order, and he craves the accomplishment of defeating bad with good. It's all black and white. Until he gets caught in the grey.
