"I don't know," he admits, turning to her.
Head lowered, Emmeryn looks at a fallen leaf on the ground behind him, smiling as her eyes become glassy. "We'll miss you. Don't forget about us."
He gently cups her face, his trembling fingers tangling in her hair, and kisses her forehead. "How can I ever forget?" 
Her smile widening, she tries her best to hold back her tears as a small broken laugh escapes her. Onyx releases her slowly, almost reluctantly, and faces the other two. "You guys take care of yourselves. Thank you for giving me so many happy memories."
Zephyr nods slowly, then after a moment of deliberation, pulls Onyx to him, wrapping his arms around him fiercely as if never wanting to let go. 
Fawn holds Emmeryn tightly as she breaks down, rubbing her back comfortingly, and smiles at Onyx. "Don't become lonely without us, okay? We're too cool to be replaced but find good company regardless."
Onyx smiles sadly. "I'll try. I love you guys even if I won't be with you anymore." He walks away hesitantly, leaving behind his friends, his childhood, his everything.
