The Wolf and the Crimson Hood
They warned her about the forest. They told her it was cursed, that no one who entered Ebon Hollow ever returned. That monsters lurked beyond the boundary, waiting to drag the foolish into the darkness. Alina Everwood never believed in fairy tales. But when her grandmother falls deathly ill and the only cure lies deep within the forbidden woods, she has no choice but to face the unknown. Determined to save the only family she has left, she crosses into the Hollow, only to come face to face with the one creature she was always told to fear. A wolf with golden eyes and silver-gray fur, far larger than any she has ever seen. A hunter cloaked in shadows, watching her with something far too human in his gaze. But the deeper she ventures, the more she learns the truth. The real monsters wear human faces. The wolf is not the danger, he is the warning. And now that she has entered his domain...he will never let her go. A dark fairytale retelling of Little Red Riding Hood, blending slow-burn romance, danger, and the call of the wild. Obviously the original idea for this story isn't mine, but the story and the designs are my own. I hope you enjoy! A Retelling of Charles Perrault's Little Red Cap The Crimson Cape retells the classic story of Charles Perrault's fairytale Little Red Cap, better known as Little Red Riding Hood. For many years, the people living in the Infinite Forest have lived in fear of the wolves that inhabit those woods. The wolves used to periodically attack humans and some of the victims lost their lives. In addition to weaponry to defend themselves, the people would don enchanted clothing that would protect them from the wolves. Phoenix is a young girl who grew up without a mother, who was killed by wolves when Phoenix was only a toddler. She was given an enchanted crimson cape to wear whenever she left. the house. One year, during a very frightening encounter with a wolf, her cape is ripped and the magic leaves the garment forever. In order to re-enchant the cape, Phoenix must provide a sample of the blood of the thing she fears the most. In this case, Phoenix's greatest fear was a specific wolf that is believed to be the biggest of them all. The very essence of the term Big Bad Wolf. On her quest, Phoenix learns to face her fears.
