Inspired by the podcast and old radio show "dangerously yours" episode, "masquerade."

It's really good! Recommend listening to it If you haven't.

(This is my first time writing and I'm not very good so please give me lots of feedback if anyone is reading this 😭. The vibes of this show are immaculate and I don't feel like what I have written could ever live up or match that vibe so please give me any advice if you can!)

Also, as the radio show is a short and their are quite a few details missed out in the show. I've made some of it up and it feels slightly janky lmao. If anyone can think of anything better please let me know cuz I suck and I am not a creative gal.😐

When I watched it, I thought: what if Alastor had a kind of troubled romance before getting shot? (in a very funny way btw). But not a normal romance, something toxic, manipulative... just like Alastor would do, hahaha. So, I decided to create Margot Beaumont, a 20-year-old girl from New Orleans' aristocracy, who is forced to follow her parents' strict expectations, and made her falls in love with Alastor, this magnetic and charming man who loves jazz and whiskey (as we see in episode 4). The story takes place in the Hazbin Hotel, where Margot ends up after her death, surrounded by flashbacks of her life in the 1920s. Through them, she recalls her youth and her forbidden love with this "demon." I mean... I would love that! Hope you do too! 💀🎶 Disclaimer: English isn't my first language, so I did my best! Also, yes,I know there's a time gap between Margot's death and the series' setting, but let's just pretend it doesn't exist, shall we? 😁 And just a headsup: this story contains strong language, manipulation, an abusive and toxic relationship, blood scenes, and dark themes - we're in Hell, after all. But an encounter at a speakeasy sends idealistic cop Lester on the chase - and he's not exactly looking for cash. As tensions between Chicago lawmen and gangs grow worse by the day, all the fast talking in the world might not be enough to keep Nellie and her friends out of jail. Or alive. * * * * * * * * * * Felix drums his fingers along the steering wheel. A man exits the other car, dressed to the nines with a fine-looking fedora. A very bad feeling begins to swirl inside my chest. He's certainly no cop. The attendant is hurrying with the pump. Felix has tensed beside me, staring with fascination directly ahead. "Are they watching us?" "The one fella is." Felix presses his lips together. But he knows we can't leave. We need the gas. Felix has a back-up can of it stowed somewhere but that's for emergencies. Is this a real emergency? One of the other fellas hops out. Before the door slams I notice what his still-seated friend is holding. A tommy gun. My skin prickles. Felix pales. We're just playing at bootlegging now. But those folks are the real deal-complete with hired guns to protect their hooch. Felix's hand moves to the starter and I knock it away. The one in the fedora has seen us. He casually makes his way over and I know our story isn't good enough; this guy will notice we snooped even when we didn't mean to and we'll be in some sort of a mess. So I ditch our story. I throw myself at Felix and kiss him as thoroughly as I know how.

('You wake in a strange place, possibly as someone else.') -'The Listeners'. Morial and her fellow Spirit Listeners work hard to maintain the balance between nature and mortals; until, one Summer, Morial is accused of upsetting that balance herself. ("I know what you did last summer". The prompt features as paragraph nine in my story.) -'Between the (Spread)Sheets'. An accountant and a trader play cat-and-mouse in a City firm. The only real thing in this story is the Museum of London (which has an excellent Roman gallery, btw); any coincidence with real heritage experts - or indeed the unrealistic probability of such a find - is my fault. -'Cyclopean Arches'. He didn't hesitate to immediately go and save her. But will Tom's plan work out like he thought? Or Anton will ruin everything before he can even see Valentina again?
