Kids who learn empathy can benefit in many ways, such as being more optimistic, establishing a stronger connection with their peers and educators, becoming more accepting and tolerant of each other, improving communication skills, and promoting social harmony.

If you're planning social and emotional learning activities for elementary to teach empathy to your students, then these 5 strategies will prove to be really beneficial:- 

1. Make students aware of their emotions by teaching them how to recognize them. So, that they can be able to realize similar emotions expressed by those around them. 
2. To teach kids how to take a different perspective so that they can understand that it is possible to feel differently than another person about the same thing.
3. Talk about empathy explicitly with kids to explain to them what empathy is and why it's important.
4. Model Empathy to let students see it in action. 
5. Encourage students to practice empathy by providing them with opportunities to do so.
