Despite being a villain, Sensei was the only one who had ever treated Izuku like he was a human being. For that, he was eternally grateful. He was trained for an entire year before being tasked to serve under Sensei's protégé, Tomura Shigaraki.
Izuku didn't like Shigaraki very much. But he trusted Sensei and Sensei trusted Shigaraki, so Izuku did as he was told and served under him.
