IN WHICH Y/N L/N had written a song (Slow Dancing In The Dark) exactly one week before she checked her Spotify profile. Overwhelmed by the amount of popularity she has gained, she decides to check her emails for record company offers. Various different companies and managers requested to work with her, and spectacularly, Republic Records wanted her to sign with them. This gave Y/N a chance to reunite with her childhood best friend, Hailee Steinfeld.

Unfortunately, the chance of Hailee remembering Y/N is very low. Their time together was short, but sweet. Y/N moved to Tarzana in the sixth grade, and her first and only friend was Hailee. Unlike Y/N, Hailee had many other friends, much closer ones. In the time that they hung out, Y/N had caught feelings for the slightly taller girl, but she was far too scared to admit it. Sadly, the duo's time together was cut short when Hailee moved to Colorado in the eighth grade for the shooting of "True Grit", her debut role.

Hailee returned to the town's local high school in the ninth grade, but she had no interest in Y/N anymore. She was rather a big deal, and many other people found interest in her, both boys and girls. Y/N was heartbroken and determined to get her friend back eventually. Even to this day, she regrets not telling Hailee how she felt. She assumed her feelings would go away as time passed, but they never did. She was surrounded by the girl's face and couldn't help but follow her "friend's" journey through a screen.

Now signed to Republic Records, Y/N is closer to Hailee than ever. A little flame of hope welled up in the girl when she spotted her old friend in the recording studio Y/N was supposed to sing in for a sample of a song. Now the hope that filled her was shattered when Hailee didn't remember Y/N. But that didn't stop Y/N. She was determined to rekindle their friendship, and hopefully, be more than friends.

"Is it a turn off?" She flashes a grin, revealing her perfect white teeth, inching her face closer to mine. Oh no, she's definitely flirting, and suddenly my palms are sweating. My heart pounds because I know I can't play her game. Not because I don't want to, but because-well, I'm not into girls. At least, I thought I wasn't. "I don't know. I can't really explain how other girls feel about it when you date them," I shrug awkwardly, trying to keep my cool. She chuckles softly, shaking her head, and the air between us thickens with tension. What's her game? "Forget other girls. How do *you* feel about it?" she presses, her voice low and teasing. I shift uncomfortably, squirming under her gaze. "If I were a lesbian, then no. No, it wouldn't be a turn-off," I stammer, feeling the nervousness creep up my spine. "You sure?" Her voice is honey, tempting. Meet Jay Alden, 23 years old and still figuring life-and love-out. She's always been straight... well, more like straight as a squiggly line. That is, until Ky Guery entered her life. Ky, a confident 22-year-old who's comfortable with her sexuality, flirts with ease and has Jay questioning everything she thought she knew about herself. Ky's carefree attitude and playful charm make Jay feel warm, giddy, and utterly confused all at once. One moment she's sure she's straight, the next she's drowning in Ky's kisses, wondering if maybe, just maybe, she's been wrong all along. But falling for Ky isn't just about self-discovery-it's about trust, too. Jay's been burned before by a smooth-talking ex-boyfriend, and Ky's playful ways sometimes remind her too much of that heartbreak. She's caught between the thrill of something new and the fear of getting hurt again. Does she dare open her heart, or will Ky's unpredictability push her away for good? Jay's journey is one of love, confusion, and self-acceptance as she navigates the messy middle ground between what she thought she knew and what she's starting to feel.

"Who's this?" Spiderman points to an old polaroid on my desk. I glance at it, before going focusing back on Spider's shoulder, "Just a boy I was friends with in high school. He kinda just disappeared after his girlfriend died though." "Oh. Were you close?" I shrugged, the old feeling of bitterness reentering my heart after so many years. "I would have called us best friends, but I guess not close enough for him to want my help." "I'm sure he just didn't want to hurt you." "Whatever, I'm over it." "You still have his picture." "I said I'm over it, Spiderboy! He left, he's not my friend anymore! Not like you won't do the same thing when you leave here tonight. I helped you, and now you have no use for me. Just like Peter." ------ You used to be best friends with Peter Parker. That was until he met Gwen Stacy and fell in love. And when she died due to a freak accident, Peter left you for good. You were on your own now, and you preferred it that way. No one was going to hurt you now, you just had to get through med school and you'd be a-okay. At least so you thought. Exactly five years after the death of Gwen Stacy you find a beaten-up Spiderman laying on your porch. He could barely get out a word before you led him into your apartment and helped him clean up. After that fateful night, Spiderman would pay you almost nightly visits to fix him after his nightly patrols each night. You couldn't help to get close to the masked man. But there was always that underlying fear that he was just using you as your other friends had? Or was there actually a friendship? As the months went on you found yourself falling for the superhero. Surely this was bound to end in disaster. ------ Warnings: mentions of blood/gore/vomiting, some cussing, there will be no smut of any kind so don't ask Disclaimer: I do not own Spiderman or any characters related to Spiderman

"The moon's really beautiful, if you think about it," I blurted. "Yeah?" he asked, mild amusement and curiosity mingling in his voice. "Yeah," I confirmed. "It's just- there's something about the moon that's ethereal. I don't really know how to describe it, but it's a constant in life. You can't always see it, but you have to trust that it's out there somewhere. And when you can see it, it's all bright and shiny and overcomes the darkness." I paused, searching for the right words. "I don't know. I guess it's a reminder that there are good things out there, even if you can't see them... And it's cool to think that someone hundreds of miles away is staring at the exact same moon as you. It makes me feel not so alone in life." Turning my head, I saw him staring at me intently with a thoughtful look on his face. "Too deep for a Friday night?" I laughed nervously, feeling my face grow hot. And this was precisely why I didn't go to parties. He shook his head and seemed to snap out of his daze. "It was deep in a good way." *** SHE was quiet & left out. My Girl

64 parts Complete Mature

Cal Jackson's new life as a rockstar fails to account for one thing: the existence of the girl he loves. ***** "What are you thinking about?" she asks. "A song," I say. "A new song." I stare at the ocean as I sing the song that I wrote, something that comes from the darkest place of my heart. "Do you even know how gifted you are?" she whispers. "You're destined to be someone big, Cal." "Really?" "Yeah." ***** She's perfect in every way. Beautiful. Smart. Her bright future is right there in front of her eyes. While here I am. Ruined. No college, let alone a future. Just an image of a wannabe rockstar with tattoed arms and an old guitar. I knew that our story would be no less than that tragic Romeo and Juliet shit the moment I laid my eyes on her, but still, I can't resist her. The moment she whispers my name, "Cal," I lose all sanity. She becomes my melody, my lyrics, the song that keeps echoing in my ears. People call her Mia. I call her my Amy, her name crafted above my beating heart, tattoed on my skin. Amelia Davis is my girl. Mine. And only mine. Β© 2021 Anya Jayvyn. All Rights Reserved.
