I held his hand as his consciousness faded away. His breathing slowed and the rhythm of his heart beat decreased. Tears stung at my eyes as i stared into the eyes of my dying husband. beep.........beep.........beep..................beep........ it slowed and got more silent. My heart felt a sharp pain as my mind became clear, 'I'm going to lose him.'

I tightened my grip on his hand as his eyes rolled back and his hand became heavy. I shot up from my chair and shook his hand. "NO! NO! baby look at me! please don't....... die...." the beeping completely stopped by the time the nurses rushed into the room. I dropped back into my chair and cried, i refused to believe he was dead. He was gone but i couldn't accept that.
