The beautiful, sunny island of Oahu, Hawaii is home to many people, animals, and ecosystems. And it's about to welcome a new family to its town of Kailua. The Reed family came all the way from Jackson, Wyoming to move to the tropical island. The father, Daniel, received a job promotion and was moved to an office location in Kailua. The mother, Alyssa, is very excited to live on a famous island with the beach and tropical breeze available year-round. Their only child, Genesis, is nervous, however. She's lived in Wyoming for her entire life and is worried to leave her life-long friends and start over. It's a big change for her... she's never even been to a beach before.

What happens when Genesis get tossed away from the basic life she's known to be introduced to a completely new one where anything seems possible and myths come to life?

In the tranquil waters of Hawai'i, Hokulani and Nikau wonder if it's possible for a song to go on forever. ***** For as long as Hokulani can remember, she's always felt like she's treading water. Everything she loves becomes a means to escape from what's happening around her or, worse, the unsteadiness of her mind. She even finds her passion for music slipping through her grasp, though she tries her best not to completely let that go. And even though the arrival of an up-and-coming musician from Aotearoa causes waves, she's unable to fully enjoy her life. Unable to release that breath she feels like she's been holding onto ever since her father passed away. When her family is hit with complicated news, the Kahananui woman must make difficult decisions for themselves, including one Hokulani isn't sure she fully understands. But even when their choices are made, they bring up memories they've all been trying their best to forget, forcing them to face the reality deep inside the family's hearts. Hokulani takes refuge in the comfort her shared feelings with Nikau bring, but just because she wants something, doesn't mean it's enough. She knows she has a lot to work through on her own, and with the understanding that his year on the island will eventually come to an end, the two of them spend endless nights wondering if they can somehow make a song go on forever. » featured on @talesofthedeep @WattpadFusion @ContemporaryLit and @Ambassadors« All rights reserved © Stephanie Midorii, smidorii

Yet, the ripples of the changing world beyond seep in with increasing force, bleaching color and darkening minds--but not Dea Rhodoreef's mind. That day, all Dea could think about was swimming her sea cow to the seagrass meadows. Who said life's easy for a high school teen? Even more so when one is a pastel goth gamer mermaid trying to scrape by in a modest mobile home with a grumpy grandmother, who's always complaining about the "human infestation". Maybe the troubled city-state will embrace a new dawn when merpeople and humans co-exist--a future that Dea is determined to work hard for. Noble causes aside, just getting to see a notorious human is number one on her bucket list. Now, as if school, a part-time job and a looming political career aren't enough, a chonky sea cow has been following her for days. It's time to return him to the wild--not like she'd run into a human. Highest Ranking: #2 in a slight comedy, #2 in Hawaii and #1 in Hawaiian. Book scene: He seemed to change demeaner as he opened the door and called for me. Sebastian? "Time to come home. " I looked outside and it was nearly dark. "Oh thank you. " I said goodbye. He nodded and urged me to walk toward the exit. I heard a hard hit behind me and when I turned around, Sebastian was close behind me. "Everything ok?" I asked. "I am fine." My eyes widened and I decided not to ask any more questions. WARNING This book has a steady pacing but it's worth it. Also, this is the first book I've ever written and I hope that you like it! God bless all that does read it and those that don't. Take care and I wish you all the best. ATTENTION This book's characters, timeline, personalities, ideas, etc. are MINE and this will be explained below. Some things in this story are fictional. In this timeline I created, it's a mix of the past and the present. Hawaii has chiefs, villages, but also has resorts, phones, planes, jets, cars, etc. To make the story the way I want it to be. This is a story made by me, so if you wish to write a story inspired by it please say that the story was inspired by me or something to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings and conflicts. Thank you for reading and I hope that you enjoy my book. ByeBye!
