In The Beginning There Was Light and Darkness The modern world faces a new challenge to magic, order and the creatures that inhabit the planet: the new young generation of adults. Witch and warlock royalty has succumbed to new technology trends. Warlocks prefer FaceTime to old-fashioned crystal balls. Witches prefer jets to old-fashioned mop brooms. The Siren community is at the cutting edge of renewable technologies and are great activists. Werewolf clans are the lifeblood of law enforcement. Vampires make their debut in medicine and persist in politics. Fairies are rulers of nature: geologist, biologist and seek harmonious and sustainable development. Elves are still outdated, except for the odd elf who has a phone around. Banshees are celebrated scientists. Gorgons have a knack for contemporary art. Demons still wander the earth in search of a balance against the celestial authorities. And humans continue to create the technology that makes life closer to achieving the very thing their lack of powers prevents them from pursuing. All are both Evil and Kind at the same time. Yet the tensions between communities, hierarchies and the superiority of the royalty of witches and warlocks unnerves the rest of the beings. Wars are nothing new to them.
