Vivian Spire is a runner.  She loves track and field and with the help of her trainer, Neal, she has become very good at it.  She has beat everyone on her level, but her goal is to beat someone above her, which she has never done.  She is on the brink of giving up when a big competition comes to her town.  The prize is a chance to become and athlete.  Her trainer wants her to do it and it very confident in her but she is not so sure...
