A book about a man who was at the top of the kingdom, but was then banished by the king, and needed to get away, so he travels the kingdom in secret and avoids any more contact with people than needs to be, but he has certain abilities that help him along the way

The Black King
A King in a faraway land, a long, long time ago, arises early one morning, heavy thoughts on his mind. A deep feeling of dissatisfaction has plagued him for many days. This morning he comes to realize he must leave his Kingdom, all his power and wealth, to seek out in the world, what he cannot find behind palace walls. Thus begins the adventure, that takes our hero through many twists and turns to bring him to an understanding of what it was he was missing.
