Sophia finally gets her chance to prove to her father that she is responsible enough to look after her Kingdom; she always wanted in on the action, and she hated sitting around only to be pampered. She never thought she would meet someone who would challenge her to get what she wanted, but she also didn't think she would experience the warm feelings she had only read or heard about. In her new assignment, she sees that the world isn't as bright as she thought it was. There was darkness everywhere, but she had always dreamt of creating peace for everyone. Her dream faces the possibility of being crushed when she meets the darkest of people, the evilest of humans. She has to put her naivety and rashness aside to think about how to escape it, and she realizes stubbornness doesn't always pay off. May

1813. London. ... Eighteen-year-old Sofia May, a peasant girl and immigrant, has been handed over to the Bennet family as a servant. But what if love dared to defy law and duty? What if the struggle to be together tested them to the brink of ruin.. or death? He smirked, green eyes glinting with cruel amusement. I loathed him. God, who did he think he was? "Of course, my lord. If that pleases you." I forced a smile, hiding the fire I felt rising within me. ••• "I cannot have you, Sofia May. I am wrong for you," he confessed, his voice low, restrained, yet trembling just enough that I knew the truth lay beneath. "No. No, you are just right for me," I whispered. "I believe that. Don't you?" "I... I do," he admitted, each word a struggle, his eyes betraying the turmoil he refused to name. {Mature
