A novella about the struggle to recognize what is real and what is just a mere dream. Are you awake while you are reading this or is this all just a very detailed dream? Perhaps what you see as a dream is real and what you see as the real world is a nightmare or a dream if you are among the few lucky ones.

Everyone has nightmares. Hoping to eventually wake up, one has to face their deepest hidden fears for what feels like hours, in only the span of a few minutes. Luckily, nightmares are infrequent. Not for Ruth though. For some reason she has nightmares every time she sleeps. Luckily the pain is fleeting, and her memories disappear. But what happens when she falls into the realm where nightmares live and breathe? Could she ever forget such an experience?

15 year old Lily has a normal life, a best friend and doesn't do too badly at school. She's never had any trouble sleeping before until...the nightmare. A recurring nightmare that refuses to leave her alone and taints her sleep. She's not sure what to make of it until a new boy starts her school and she begins to see more than one connection with the boy and her dream. The end result is a little more than she bargained for and Lily finds herself thrown into a situation she would never have dreamed of. These things don't happen in dreams...only in nightmares.

After all, if the "something" was inconsistent, it would be safer to assume "nothing", right? Living in a "reality" of what was actually illusions, she could only trust herself to know the truth.
