As the moon hung high, casting its light upon them all,
No sooner than its rise, did that moon and its light fall.

For the past year, eighteen-year old spare heir and werewolf Michael has lived in the shadow of loss. Unable to shake the guilt of not saving his older brother, grief haunts him like a second shadow, and to make things worse, a recurring dream of a mysterious girl won't let him go.
When that dream leads him to the once forbidden Woodlands, Michael makes a chilling discovery: a living Fae. Not only should her presence be impossible, as her people no longer inhabited this world, her existence is dangerous. For her. For him. For his mother, whose role in helping the Fae escape the almost war a year ago would be seen as treason by his pack and his father, the ruthless Alpha.
To protect his mother, Michael must smuggle the fairy to the new Fae world before anyone discovers her. To do that, he'll need the help of the Witches-his best friend Zanna, in particular-but tensions between the Wolves and Witches are high as both are fighting to claim the abandoned Woodlands. And if he cannot ensure neither side's claims are successful, the fairy will be exposed along with his mother's secret.
But protecting the fairy comes at a price. Michael wants to hate her, but finds himself drawn to her in ways that threaten his mission and his heart. And with a forced betrothal looming over him, falling for the fairy is absolutely not an option.
Torn between loyalty and truth, duty and heart, Michael must decide who he is: the Alpha's son, the grieving brother, his mother's protector, or something else entirely. Because the Woodlands are stirring again, and Michael's choice could bring war or redemption.
It's been a few months since the books of beginning were destroyed and the Wibberly siblings were reunited with their parents. A few months since they each lost people dear to them. In the aftermath, their parents have tried to adjust them to a normal life, and a normal family dynamic. But the children know that it just doesn't feel right. They can't heal or live like this. Something inside Kate, Michael, and Emma craves the world of magic and their friends in that world.
When their parents go out to the store one day and by nightfall have not returned, the Wibberlys become fearful. And a startling attack causes them to have to flee their home in the dead of night and return to the magical world. It turns out the ghosts of the past have come back to haunt them. And while these new loopholes in the boundaries between life of death allow the siblings to reunite with and seek help from some beloved friends, it also means their deadliest enemy is roaming the world once more, hungry for revenge.
And so the three are launched into another quest to save their family and discover what could possibly be causing the very foundations of the world to shift. Michael investigates with a fervor, seeking guidance from many friends and allies among the living and the dead. Emma trains to fight to protect her family, helped by the ghost of her dear friend and mentor. And Kate begins to unlock the magic inside of her, magic that could hold the key to saving her family, defeating evil once and for all, and maybe even changing destiny to bring the boy she loves back to her.
Together, Kate, Michael, Emma, and their allies are strong. But will that be enough in the face of the Dire Magnus and his overwhelming evil? And do those helping them really have their best intentions at heart?
