Amanda has had a whole life of pain, her mother abused her every day. Her father was killed in war. Her friend had killed herself and her boyfriend, Jason, was bitten and killed at the beginning of the zombie apocalypse. For her 21st birthday she got to help in the rebirth of the world after the apocalypse ended, but her past comes back to haunt her when her and her mother have to work together.
