Set in the twilight of 1920s Uzmurgia or FRUSU, a fictitious country resembling the most diabolical pastiche of Americana.

The story follows Micajah "Mica" O'Cahan, Bahumila Kaspiarovic, and Haliiskigetee Lukey, operatives of the "Strangeord", an autonomous government agency created by President Thomas Radermaker to hunt monsters threatening national security. The trio yank threads leading to magic, mayhem, and uncomfortable political realities.
