And if that was not yet generous enough, the pair from Nanjiang, particularly Wu Xi the Great Shaman, apparently knew of a way to save Zhou Zishu's life that had previously been doomed to premature death due to the "Nails of Seven Apertures for Three Autumns."
Wen Kexing felt that he was greatly indebted to Jing Beiyuan and Wu Xi.
However, as thankful as he was for their tremendous aid, Master Wen soon came to the realization that towards these two old friends of Zhou Zishu, he couldn't help but feel a particular "grievance."
Three years had passed since Zhou Zishu left the Window of Heavens.
The poison of the "Nails of Seven Apertures for Three Autumns" had absorbed itself completely into his body, numbing all of his five senses and weakening his physique. In these few years of brief freedom, Zhou Zishu had wandered the world to his heart's content. Knowing that his end was near, all that was left for him to do was find a place to die.
But when he did discover a place where he wished to breathe his last, Zhou Zishu was caught off-guard by the appearance of a mysterious nine-tailed fox named Wen Kexing.
The fox told him: "I've been searching for you for so long..."
