Lucas is the normal overly nice kid and constantly Lets people walk all over him which causes him to be upset most of the time. The title "the candle that never goes out" represents Lucas and his well-being as well as his optimistic personality allowing that little bit of happiness to never leave no matter how much a person hurts him.
