"we almost made it, we should have." after being caught with a stash of drugs and going to juvie for several months, kennedy is forced to go live with an unknown relative in california. upon her arrival, she meets a boy in which her aunt is fostering. starting off on a rocky foot, they both begin to realize just how similar they really are. ________ "Alex?" she questioned softly as she stared down at their interlocked hands, the cold air causing her to shiver slightly and inch closer to him subconsciously. He looked up, his beautiful hazel eyes soft as ever. "Yeah?" he asked, his gaze traveling across her pale face, searching for any hint as to what she might be about to ask. "When will it stop?" her voice was barely a whisper when she finally choked the words out. She could feel the alcohol flowing throughout her veins, messing with her head. Her eyes traveled the city in front of her, not once looking in the direction of the boy beside her. She knew that if she were to look at his face, she wouldn't be able to contain herself. He sat there for a minute, his eyes downcast. Slowly, he reached out and grabbed her cheek, turning her head to the direction of him. His touch was gentle. Soft. Unlike the other guys in her past. His face softened when he saw the stray tear resting beside her cracked lips. With the most caring touch, he carefully removed it with the pad of his thumb. You could see the exhaustion written all over her face. He placed his forehead onto hers, the strong smell of cheap beer attacking his senses. "Give it time, Ken. The things you feel right now are just temporary," he paused, sucking in a breath and continuing, "I will always be here for you no matter what and I hope you know that. Life without you wouldn't be complete." please read at your own risk! this story has many triggering topics.

‏**_"I never believed in legends-until I became part of one. ‏For centuries, whispers of a ruthless gang haunted my town, a group so feared that no one dared to speak their name. People said they weren't just violent men, but something far worse... something inhuman. ‏I thought it was just an old story. A warning to keep children from wandering too far at night. ‏I was wrong. ‏They are real. And now, they know I've seen them."_** ________________________‏ "No one touches you. No one looks at you. No one even breathes near you unless I allow it." ‏His voice was sharp, a growl vibrating deep in his chest. My back was pressed against the cold wall of his room, his body towering over mine, trapping me in place. ‏"Why?" My voice was barely a whisper, my pulse hammering against my ribs. ‏His hand came up, fingers threading through my hair before fisting it, tilting my head back so I had no choice but to meet his eyes-those stormy, merciless gray eyes that burned with something terrifyingly possessive. ‏"Because you're mine." ‏I swallowed hard, my breath hitching as his lips brushed against the sensitive skin of my neck. He inhaled deeply, his grip tightening. "There's something about you, something different. Your scent..." He let out a low, almost pained growl. "It drives me mad." ‏His other hand ghosted over my throat, his thumb pressing lightly against my pulse. "I should keep you locked away, hidden from everyone. But even that won't be enough, will it? Because no matter where you go, no matter how far you run... I will always find you."
