Lex is a runner- always has been. Living on the streets has left her with no money, no food, and no family. She battles things that would mentally destroy any other 17-year-old. Lex is different; what she's seen in her lifetime has made her unshakeable. She has trained herself to be oblivious to emotions and shut the world out like it did to her. Then, she meets Alec: a goofy-grinned Australian rock star who's beginning to change Lex's view on everything... everything except her announce with Adam.
She tells herself that she doesn't need anybody. Lex knows that if she gives in to how she feels, there'll be no turning back. She can't love; it'll only end up with them hurt when she runs again. And if Rick finds her, any strings attached will just be used against her as weaknesses. Even someone of Alec's status won't be safe; running is not an option anymore, it's mandatory.
But Alec is making it harder than ever for Lex by introducing her to a runaway's worst nightmare:
love.
