Zachary Anderson was born as a mutant. He developed a mutant ability that is similar to a spider. At the age of fourteen, he was delivering pizzas at his mother's job at NYU's Imperial Bio-Fuel Technology laboratory, or I.B.T. for short. After Zachary delivered the pizzas, he found an empty laboratory room that was restricted. Zachary went in to investigate, and he saw the spider cage full of experimental radioactive spiders. When Zachary got bit by one of the radioactive spiders, the bite enhanced his X-gene and gave him superhuman abilities. He tries to juggle his two new worlds -- so he must learn from Peter Parker how to use his new powers and responsibilities as Spider-Man while keeping it a secret from his high school friends and teachers. As important as school is to Zachary, Spider-Man is expected to be a superhero and protect citizens from mutant lizards, an evil vulture, and a cast of other villains.

Images flashed before my eyes. The city before me flickered, and I saw it in flames. And at the center of it all, me. A murderous super-human, just like the X-men. I sank to the ground, consumed by thoughts. And I banished the picture of flames from my mind, and with it, the fantasy of being free from myself. Forget the X-men. Like they'd said. I was the x. The unknown factor. Dangerous. Lethal. Unpredictable. I had a mission. Get into the city, undetected. Get supplies. Get information. Get out. CW: Graphic content about the same level (or less) as a standard Marvel movie.
