In his life, Shinsou could confidently say he's loved exactly three people romantically; and they each taught him something very important.

The first time he fell for someone - an attraction many people would call puppy love, though he disagreed - was with a man named Takami Keigo, or Hawks as he so adored being called for reasons Shinsou never thought to ask.

The second man he loved was named Todoroki Touya; Dabi, he preferred. He was a good person at heart, but his actions and habits were as toxic as the substances he abused.

And the last one he fell for, perhaps the most important person; Kaminari Denki. He was bright and warm, his smile lit up the room and Shinsou's dark thoughts seemed to just shrivel up and die whenever they were together.

And he taught Shinsou to forgive and let go of the past.
