Two thousand years have passed since the outbreak of the Palian War. Histories that should never have been forgotten are lost to the ravages of time and siege. All that remains of the ancient queens of the past are myths and legends. Mankind flourishes, oblivious to the truth of their history.
When the High Priest of the Southern Temple is murdered, Malia soon finds herself in a vehement search for answers. She quickly learns that hypocrisy and deceit thrive even in the most virtuous of hearts.
Despite the dangers, Malia seeks and finds answers that only lead to more questions. A mysterious boy, a band of cloaked figures, and a distant king are the chief suspects of the recent murders.
By that same king's hand, a soldier and an assassin are sent on a transcontinental journey to steal an item of interest that could reveal the ancient secrets of the Palian War.
With multiple forces at play, dangerous truths are uncovered that cause the most unlikely companions to work together to stop a common threat. Fate leads them back to the ruins of an ancient kingdom- where it all began. They race against time lest history should be doomed to repeat itself.
Betrayal awaiting them at the ruins render Malia helpless in the face of an inevitable war that would blanket the entire world in a godless darkness.
