Sally is very happy with her life in old fashioned southern style Montana. She loves being out in the isolated plains with only her family and of course, her forever best friend, her horse, Star. She has always had an affinity to nature and animals.

Almost as if she is apart of them all. Being an unusual beauty of both looks and gentle nature, she has no shortage of admirers or on-lookers. Everything in Sally's majestic life is shattered when she one day discovers her entire home on fire, her family burning with it. Giant black beasts with dark shadow warriors upon their backs is all the tender hearted Sally has time to see before Star races her into the woods, the shadows hot on their trail. Now she has nothing but her locket that burns as the enemy gains closer, and her starlight mare who the beasts seem to fear. Is there a reason Sally always felt "one" with her horse? Why she heals so rapidly? Why does she black out at danger and then always awakens unharmed? Read and find out. :)

Soon it becomes apparent why: Mason is a werewolf. But when a fight turns into a sudden kiss that neither expects, Kieran's feelings for Mason turn to attraction in an instant. None of it makes sense - vampires and werewolves are supposed to be mortal enemies, so why does Kieran find Mason so irresistible? He knows that each kiss is dangerous, each bite is unpredictable...
