Arden is used to waking up each morning in the same creaky bed of Aunt Ginger’s house, smelling the sweet scent of cinnamon rolls baking in the oven. The sun shining brightly through the window directly across from her, lighting up her blue eyes like a dark room. Until one day when she wakes up and finds the curtains closed and the oven off, Aunt Ginger telling her to be quiet. The whole town of Hazel Springs is on lockdown and no one knows why...
Until she meets Luke. He seems to know everything. Everything about everyone. He knows what's going on in the little town, but is forced not to tell. It is up to Arden to keep him safe, knowing that the whole village is in danger with one slip of the tongue.
She has to learn one way or the other to trust the eyes of the past.
