Prince Arkadian, 'The Golden Son', the sole heir to the Holy Aurum Empire, is dreading taking up the Crown and ruling his people honorably, just like his late father did. Tension is growing among the citizens as some support while others are against the prince's upcoming coronation. However, that's not the issue that is currently haunting Arkadian's mind as menacing nightmares and dangerous secrets are slowly unraveling a hidden history that was meant to be erased by the tide of time. Will Arkadian be able to handle the responsibilities of the Crown and uphold his mantle as 'The Golden Son' or will meeting the mysterious figure from his nightmare drown him in forbidden secrets and buried history?

"What?" He did not just say that. After I just told him how it scares me. How could he do that? I begin to walk away from him but he follows me, "Renee I-" I shake my head, "No." "Renee just listen to me-" "Stay away from me." I rush to the shore and start to walk away. Unfortunately, he follows me anyways. "Renee just-" "NO!" I scream at him before shifting into my wolf form, not caring that I ripped my underwear, and I sprint away. Away from him and his accusations. I refuse. I'm not ready for a mate. He can't just make this stuff up with me. I feel little raindrops on me but I continue to run, even when the rain really starts to pour. My fur is soaked and my legs are all filthy from the muddy ground. The more he tries to mind-link me, the more my eyes grow red and my face is stained. I block him and anyone else from my head and I continue to run. Run. Run. I knew the door was the size of a dragon because I could see one to compare it to, flying above the dome. Then I realized that the dragon was black. "Dad? Look up there." He looked up and cocked his head in confusion. "I've never seen anything like that before." The beast was quite high in the sky and didn't look particularly threatening, but it still spooked me to see an arkaetre that wasn't white. After watching the shadowy dragon for a few more moments, my dad said slowly, "It seems like they have no rider. We should probably tell the Council about this." I nodded and followed him inside the dome. "But what about the opening ceremony?" I asked nervously, looking down at my watch.
