Hi. I'm Leia Walters (pronounced Lay-ah) and the only thing you need to know about me is that I hate Matt Brooks. I have the wonderful gift of having him as my neighbor and besides the fact that he is annoying, obnoxious, and conceited, he is dating my younger sister, Amber who is a freshman. Of course I have a problem with it, so does my other younger sister, Shelli who is a sophomore, and my older brother, Alex who is a senior. Matt and I are both juniors and have known each other all of our lives, but we have never gotten along. I get along perfectly fine with his older brother, Sam who is a senior, and his younger sister, Rachel who in 3rd grade, but he has always give me a hard time. I wonder what I ever did to him to make him hate me...

Summers are supposed to be that time of the year that you should look forward to. No school, hours at the beach, late night parties. What's not to love? Three words. My neighbor's grandson. For once in her life, Maliah Arias is looking forward to her summer. It's the summer before senior year and life couldn't be better. She has a hot college boyfriend, plenty of Dl soccer scholarship offers, and she just went through a massive glow up. To make matters better, her neighbor's annoying yet very hot grandson, Jackson Cruz, who usually visits every summer, is away in Europe. When circumstances change, Maliah finds herself once again in the presence of Jackson, who seems hell-bent on making her life miserable. Although as time passes, the two of them find themselves growing closer and closer, whether they like it or not. Tears are shed, hearts are broken, and Maliah finds herself wondering if she'll be able to survive the summer and make it to senior year.
