Macey is a 17 year old girl living in the capitol city of England (London), only this is 1914. The time of war and devistation. Her father was sent of to fight for the Queen, but only four months later they recieved a letter telling her and her mother that her father died in battle.

It's only a few weeks later that Macey meets a boy about her age that changes everything for her. His name, Harry Styles. This boy is less unfortunate than she is, while Macey lives in a high class house with a warm bed, four functioning bathrooms and food served to her on a silver plater three times a day, he looks to scavange for mere scraps for about three or four other people to share.

Although Macey lives a high class life she does never mistreat or badmouth a single soul, not even her mother who thinks anyone poor should bow down as if she was the queen.
