Moonwatcher's mother, Secretkeeper, leaves her egg in the Rainforest for good.
As the story is twisted, a young RainWing explorer stumbles upon the egg and, moments after witnessing the hatching of a not-so-RainWing-like dragonet, falls in love with it.
Little Moonwatcher is no longer a dragonet raised secretly under her NightWing mother's protective wing. She lives and grows freely in the Rainforest with her fellow RainWings. But does this meet the end for her destined future? Does this mean her powers are for no use? Does this mean she won't meet the accomplices she was meant to all her life? Read to find out.

Illustrated story! Moonwatcher realizes that her choices, which affect her entire future, have not been what she wants and longs for. Where does she belong? Will she always be an outsider? However, a surprising event leads him to face his past and gives a new direction to his life. Family has always been his worst fear, but he could not have imagined even in his nightmares the situations he will have to face on his journey. This story takes place about 3 years after book number 15. Contains characters and references to events from the three Wings of Fire book series, including the Dragonslayer. So if you haven't read the books, this story might spoil their plot.
