I want to tell you all the story of my life. I went through a great deal of trauma from being bullied to being abused, neglected, and so on. I also hope my story will help others come out and speak about their experiences with being bullied, abused, etc. Please read with caution, as this story contains triggers such as self-harm, abuse, depression, bullying, etc. Please be respectful about my and others' stories who have also experienced the same things.
The Journey So Far
When I was 15 years of age, I was prepared to take my life. I watched an anime series called Neon Genesis Evangelion, and decided not to. 18 years later I wrote a book about everything that happened in-between. In my memoir/autobiography - The Journey So Far: A Transcultural Tale of Giant Robots, Abuse, Mental Illness, Spirituality and how Video Games and Anime Saved a Young Man's Life, I recount the story of how a young man faced with a myriad of crippling mental illnesses and a dysfunctional and abusive family kept afloat with the help of video games, anime, music, therapy and a host of other things. It is a tale of both tragedy and triumph - how I almost died on more than one occasion, but persevered and eventually found love, friendship, human connection and greater understanding of the world and its ways, as well as reconciliation with my abusers. Just like the other books, this one follows the storyline of y/n joining Reki and Langa on their skating adventure.
