Ahsoka was no longer the "kid" he had made her out to be in his mind; she hadn't been for a long time. Pretending had been only a feeble defense against the emotions he knew fell outside the boundaries of a professional relationship.
Ahsoka was the only one who understood him inside and out, who knew his heart-even the dark, broken pieces unexplored by anyone else-yet still cared.
She was the only woman he ever loved.
