Team PRPL is a story set in an alternate universe, following the adventures of Team PRPL in Atlas. It is a spinoff of an already existing RWBY fanfiction, and takes place concurrent to the events of RWBY Volume 1. Remnant, 2024. Remnant is the main setting of the RWBY series. Created by The Gods long ago, it is a future-fantasy world filled with airships, gadgets, high-tech weaponry and a form of natural energy called Dust existing side by side. The four Kingdoms of Remnant are Vale (center), Vacuo (west), Atlas (north) and Mistral (east). Each of the Kingdoms has its own distinct culture - for example, Atlas was known for its martial nature and technological advancement, and Vacuo for its rough-and-tumble lifestyle. Vale was located on the continent called Sanus, with Vacuo on its opposite end. Mistral is on the continent of Anima. Atlas was on the continent of Solitas. Vytal is the name of the island to the north of Vale. Other known landmasses include Menagerie, the continent to the bottom right. Rubicon, 2025. A mysterious new substance called "Coral" was discovered on the remote planet, Rubicon 3. As an energy source, this substance was expected to dramatically advance humanity's technological and communications capabilities. Instead, it caused a catastrophe that engulfed the planet and the surrounding stars in flames and storms, forming a Burning Star System. Almost half a century later, Coral has resurfaced on Rubicon 3, a planet now contaminated and sealed off by the catastrophe. Extra-terrestrial corporations and resistance groups fight over control of the substance. Remnant is made up of the 4 kingdoms, Vale, Mistral, Atlas and Vacuo, the hunter training academies, Beacon, Haven, Mantle and Shade, a continent where the Faunus originated called Menagerie, various villages in the country and the dark areas where the Grimm are said to appear from. Humans and Faunus all have a force apart of their soul they unlock known as Aura, which protects them like a shield but can discharge depending on the strength used in battle. They also use superpower-like abilities known as Semblance as well as powerful handmade weapons in all shapes and sizes. It's impossible for people to have the exact same Semblance, unless it runs in the family. The story revolves around a team of 4 huntresses in training. Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiou Long. Alongside their friends, they train to fight and learn how to protect Remnant, and soon learn of its history and a millennia long conflict between Ozpin, Beacon's headmaster, and Salem, a humanoid Grimm queen residing in the dark.
