Legolas and Aelinor - The lord of the rings
When Sauron held the ring of power, the father of the little Aelinor was his ally, an elf.
he failed in a mission and the price to pay was high: he stabbed the little girl in her sleep by placing a piece of the ring inside her heart so that if the ring was destroyed...Aelinor would be destined to die, only true love would save her. Every trace of that child's head was completely eliminated and left on the edge of Mirkwood.
Her heart beat to the rhythm of the forest, and in her veins flowed an ancient power, tied to the sap of the trees and the breath of the wind.
Legolas, son of Thranduil, Prince of that sylvan kingdom, met Aelinor in the days of his youth. In her Legolas found a love that no royal lesson had taught him, a strength that he could not dominate or understand.
There came a dark day, when the forces of Dol Guldur moved in the shadows and Thranduil, in all haste, sent a band of guards south, with Legolas and young Tauriel in tow. It was not the prince's choice, but the king's command. In his hasty farewell, Legolas took Aelinor's hands and swore.
Then, one evening like so many others, a figure returned to Thranduil's palace.
But what he saw was Tauriel, beside Legolas, their hands intertwined, their gazes close, filled with unspoken words. Too close. Too late.
She turned... and was gone. Neither the elf nor the creatures of the forest knew where she had gone.
Centuries passed.
Now, the Shadow of Sauron rises from Mordor and the whole world trembles. The free races seek allies and the few pure hearts left gather in the Council of Elrond.
And it is there, on a day full of omens, that two gazes meet after centuries of silence.
