Elaina Mitchell, known as Amarillo to her fellow naval soldiers, is the only child of Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, a female naval aviator, and one of the best Top Gun graduates to walk the planet. When drawn from her squadron to participate in the training of a mission her father plans to teach, Elaina finds herself falling in love with her childhood best friend, Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw.
