(BOOK 1)
Althea Layla Nott stands apart from her family with her gentle heart, unwavering belief in equality, and fierce loyalty to her friends.
Regulus Arcturus Black, burdened with the weight of being the Black heir, once shared an unbreakable bond with Althea. Now, they've become strangers, separated by walls Regulus has built around himself.
Althea longs to restore their friendship, but the looming war forces them onto opposing sides, compelling them to make choices that will alter their lives forever.
In a world where loyalty is tested and alliances shift, Althea and Regulus must navigate their way through treacherous waters, their decisions echoing the promise of either reconciliation or further division.
"I look at his dark gaze, aching to lean closer and let our souls touch but it isn't that easy. This one kiss would change everything. We were friends once, then we were nothing, and, now here we stand, on the verge of risking it all.
He gives me no time to register his action as he leans closer. I close my eyes and wait to feel his lips against mine but it never happens, instead, he bends his head slightly and plants his lips on my collarbone.
I gasp and throw my head back as his lips linger there, the featherlike kiss causes a warm and tingly feeling in my stomach. My mind goes blank, all those thoughts screaming at me to run a moment ago vanished and all I could think about was his soft lips. His other hands join in on my waist and tug me closer, our chest touching as another gasp leaves my mouth.
He pulls back and almost immediately I ache for the way his warm lips felt against my skin. Without missing another beat he kisses me again, a little higher this time, and continues planting kisses along my neck, then on my jaw, and planting a last kiss on my lips, barely touching them."
Everyone saw me as perfect, I always had been my whole life. I was Regulus Black, I was raised to be perfect. I was everything that my parents wanted me to be. Pureblood, Slytherin, and the opposite of my brother.
My brother was Sirius Black, known as the heart throb of Hogwarts. My parents hated him. He had been sorted into Gryffindor. He had been set free. I have always been jealous of him, he isn't stuck being controlled. He has forgotten about me, moved on completely. He once promised me that we would both escape together, but he broke it. How could I forgive him for that? He ran away over the summer and left me there.
"Sorry." I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard that oh so beautiful voice.
"Sorry Marisa, I didn't mean to bump into you!" Some random kid who I didn't know exclaimed.
"It was my fault, I should have been more careful." Marisa smiled. My heart skipped a beat at the sight of it.
Marisa was a Hufflepuff, and she was one of the most popular girls in the school. She was in the year just above me. She was another one of Sirius' friends. She is also the girl I've had a crush on since third year, but I've never even spoken to her.
