Her breath hitched, the scent of antiseptic and his cologne dizzying. "Make me," Ishika challenged, her lips brushing his jaw-a taunt, a dare. Ayaan's restraint snapped. His mouth crashed against hers, not gentle, not careful-a claiming. The taste of copper and whiskey flooded her senses as she bit his lip, drawing blood. He groaned, his hands sliding down to grip her waist, anchoring her to him like she was the only thing keeping him from drowning. "You ruin me," he growled against her mouth. Ishika laughed, dark and breathless. "Good." Because in their world, love wasn't soft. It was knives and teeth and scars-and she'd carve her name into his soul before she ever let him go.
