It's been 7 since the New Directions reunited in New York to attend Rachel's big night when she won an award at a gala. But all of them have moved back to their hometown of Lima, Ohio and most of them are still in touch with each other and all have their own families now.

Going into high school seemed exciting at first, until it all came down to fitting in, where one Caroline Hudson thought if she joined cheerleading like her mom had in high school she'd be able to survive like her brother told her too. But when the cheerleading coach destroys her self esteem and the potential rest of her life, telling her she'll be going nowhere and be stuck working at breadsticks for the rest of her life. She then puts her emotion into what she really likes to do. Performing. Which when she sings her own rendition of the start of something new from high school musical, her entire high school experience changes course when she gets asked to be in the school glee club called the new directions.

After all, she had everything she could possibly want and that was definitely going to be Emily Marshall's year. "Twitter says you are still dating Hobo McBieber." Jacob said, as he struggled to keep up with Emily as the girl walked down the hallways. People stepped away from her as she passed - parting like the Red Sea for the most popular girl at school - but none of them actually cared enough not to bump into Jacob. And it wasn't as if Emily was about to say anything about it. "Yes, I am." She nodded, a smile on her lips as Jacob still struggled to walk beside her. "And you are the head cheerio now, part of two of the most popular clubs in McKinley with two National Championships from last year and officially dating a football player." Winnie rolled her eyes, already annoyed and it was only ten in the morning of her first day of school. She could hear JBI's voice down the hallway and she was sure he was coming her way, but she couldn't tell for sure if she was annoyed at him or at Tina, who walked beside her with Dottie, a freshman she had, somehow convinced to follow her around all day everyday. Now, Winnie had kept her promise. When Mike left, she had stuck by Tina. The two of them had helped each other, working together through missing the boy, but, as soon as the last week of summer rolled around, Tina started to change. She started to become self-obsessed and she suddenly turned into a bigger diva than Rachel Berry herself, always talking about the solos she wanted to have at glee or how much her voice had improved with the years. Winnie was about 90% sure all of this was just some weird copying mechanism Tina had created to deal with Mike's absence, but it drove Winnie insane. Still, she stuck by Tina anyway, more out of habit than anything else, but with Mike gone and Tina's new attitude, Winnie wasn't sure how much more of this she'd be willing to take.
