The grim reaper has retired. Nothing on earth has died for fifty long years. Humanity has split into two- the survivalists, and the immortalists. The survivalists know the hard truth: humans can no longer die, but they can still starve. Locked behind rigid walls, the suburbs are a strictly rationed, uniform world. Meanwhile, the cities run wild with experiments and failed containment attempts of every species that should have died years ago. The immortalists are religious zealots, who try to find the meaning of life on the brink of death. And out in the wild, the humans left behind scavenge whatever safety they can find.

The world is a dangerous place, and even with the help of their not-quite human companion Cat and and group of newfound friends, there are new, unfound struggles in store for the pair and a secret neither of them will see coming.
