Cody is a 16-year old among 15 subjects to get supernatural powers as an aid in a war against notorious rebel Macee. Unlike most of the brainwashed others, Cody seeks to join the rebels due to his strong instinct that the rebels are fighting for good. He plans to escape with his best friend Brenna.

His plans are thrown off-kilter when his healing powers malfunction in a test to prove they work. The incident builds a metaphoric wall between himself and anyone else. But this seclusive behavior didn't get in the way of his goals. There was a broken world outside that he needed to heal.
