Divergent from a new characters point of view-Jeanine Mathews daughter. She's lived a life of constant pressure and abuse in Erudite, so what will happen when she chooses Dauntless the year before Tris does and falls in love with another initiate?

In this story, it is a year before the famed Tris Prior transfers to Dauntless and brings about the end of the faction system. It follows Candor-born, Giavanni Lincoln who has a slight bump in her Aptitude test and is torn at her Choosing Ceremony. She discovers the term Divergent and lies low until Tris Prior shows up and she no longer has to hide.

Tris has just finished her initiation. She's having a hard time getting used to all the dauntless. But mostly, having a hard time in her new relationship. She has her fears. And not just THAT one. Of losing Tobias. Of him; of the fact that he has complete control of her feelings. She's falling hard... And so is he. He has his insecurities. However, how does he react to those insecurities with other people? Rage.

This story, follows the sixteen year old daughter of now Dauntless leader, Eric. A young woman, confused, trying to decide where she belongs while living up to her father's high standards and still trying to find freedom in dystopian Chicago. A sequel to Divergent that takes place 15 years after Tobias Eaton's own initiation. This is from the base idea that there was never a war between Erudite and Abnegation. Join Melanie in the horror show called life, where, when circumstances look grim, Eric is always there to add a little pain. Tris is trying to get comfortable in this new relationship. Its all new to her and Tobias. She knows she liked him more than she probably should; that he needs so much more than some small abnegation transfer. Tobias loves the ground Tris walks on; would do anything to protect her and make her happy. He has his baggage, and he carries it with him on his back. They think they don't deserve each other but oh how they need each other. (Al is alive, parents can see their child if they make it through initiation, and there was no war!!)
