He was lonely and he just needed someone. I could tell when late at night he would come into my bedroom and sit at the edge of my bed, thinking I was asleep and recite me stores of when he was younger and needed someone and no one was there.
I knew he was afraid and needed a reason to be strong. When he would want to go out with me to the lonely beach and dig our feet into the sand. When he would drag me out into the water just past our waist and would hold onto my hand as tightly as he could.
He was a sad kind of beautiful. Something that I could well relate too. Because when you were lonely and afraid you would grab onto anything you could and hope it would be enough to keep you floating. I just happened to be the life raft in the cold blue sea and he -my kidnapper- just happened to be the one that needed saving..
