As Leila set down her keys, letting them drop to the floor, she noticed a note on her rotting desk. Leila sat down, shaking. June had died out, July had come quicker then a bullet shot out of a gun. Her rent was overdue by many months, and she had been fired from her job. What was a teenager to do with so much regret? It has been two months since Leila got the final notice. One month in a shelter, hating life, the next one on the damp and dark streets. She hadn't expected much luck in the large city of New York, there where so many people that nobody would take a second glance at a teenage girl on the street. But someone did. Connor Smithson. Connor Smithson, where do we begin about him? He was athletic, smart, had gorgeous eyes that would make even Godzilla feel overwhelmed. But that's not the point about him. Leila didn't see a gorgeous boy before her- she saw a kind soul. More kind then anyone else that hadn't looked back at her. Connor opened the car door. To be Continued. .

Excerpt-- Take a breath, Lana. Everything will be okay. My stomach churned when I noticed his perfectly combed chestnut hair walking through the corridor by himself, just like any other day. I basically jumped out of the bush, nearly tripping in the process. With no time to fix my hair, I rushed in front of him causing him to stop. "Who are you?" He asked, staring deeply into my eyes, practically making me melt. "I'm Lana Hart, we're in the same grade," acting like a robot reciting the speech I had a plan in my head. "Could you please accept this letter?" I bowed my head down like an idiot, may I add waiting for him to take the letter. Soft panic aroused in my chest. Please let this one good thing happen to me. ---- Charming, quiet, intimidating, interesting, smart; Declan Novak was the perfect student at Yvon High School. It was as if he had the 'golden touch'. Literally. Every ground he walked on was like rolling out the red carpet for him. He had his whole life planned out; graduate as valedictorian, attend a prestigious college, and then take over his father's multimillion-dollar company-- All until Lana Hart came into the picture, love letter in hand with admiration in her eyes. Lana, little Miss Sunshine, spent most of high school crushing hard on Declan, the rude yet amazingly attractive Greek God of the school. She rarely spent time on her studies, but now that it's senior year, Lana is frantically running out of time to improve her grades for nursing school. That, and getting Declan to notice her. Will the optimistic Lana be able to win over crush's heart? Or will Declan ignore her like he does with every other girl?
