Rhiannon, an 18-year-old, aspiring author, and her mother, Ruby, live in a small fishing town on the Oregon coast. For all of Rin's childhood, they've stayed in the same run-down shack on top of a small store, owned by Ruby.
When strange things begin to happen around the teen, Rin has suspicions but can't seem to prove them until a set of siblings move into the meager, hostile town, Mare and Dune. It becomes clear that the two new kids aren't just there for a fresh start, they are there to look for something or somebody.
Weeks go by, and the twins are enjoying the company of their new friend, but with a time crunch soon approaching and hunches of their own, the twins know they can't be fooling around any longer with Rin. They have to leave and continue their search elsewhere. After multiple dead-end, leading them in a wild goose chase, all the clues may have just burned up in one brief moment between Rin and Dune.
Before long, the twins have to ask themselves if Rin is who they were sent to find and if so, does she even knows what she is?
